Mary Baum Eutzler, 75, of Hahira, died on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. Mary was born on January 27, 1949, in Portland, Oregon, and raised in Schofield, Wisconsin, as the daughter of the late Martin and Helen Baum. Mary graduated from Wausau High School in Wausau, Wisconsin, and then Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin. After marrying her husband, James (Jim) Eutzler in November, 1971, Mary and Jim relocated to Largo, Florida, where she taught 7th and 8th grade English at St. Patrick Catholic School. In 2004, Mary and Jim relocated to Valdosta, where she continued to teach English, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, until retiring. Mary's life revolved around her family; she was a loving wife and mother, but found the most joy being a grandmother (Nani) to her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dr. James Eutzler of Hahira; her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Shirin Eutzler of Valdosta; her daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Dan Tillman of Hahira; her grandchildren whom she adored, Emerson and McKey Tillman and Samuel and Rachel Eutzler; a sister-in-law, Kathy Cherry of Maryville, Tennessee; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Marivic Eutzler of Lake Park; two nieces, Kari (Jeff) Shepler and Kathi (Matt) Bair, and two nephews, Ben (Mel) Cox and Tommy (Mel) Cox. Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Baum; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Enos and Betty Eutzler, and a niece, Kristi Patel.
At Mary's request, a brief prayer service for family and close friends will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in the Chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Garrett Grubbs officiating.
