Mark Steven Armstrong, 69, of Valdosta, GA, passed away on Friday, June 12 2026. He was born in Memphis, TN, on January 12, 1957 to the late Ann Boren Armstrong and James Sherrel Armstrong. Formerly a resident of Jackson, MS, Mr. Armstrong moved to Valdosta 39 years ago.

Mr. Armstrong attended Lake Park Community Church where he was a member of the men’s breakfast prayer group. As well as being a man of faith, he loved sports, particularly baseball, and was a fan of the Braves. He also enjoyed boxing, and was a mascot for Mississippi State. Above all else, Mark loved the Lord, his four boys and his eleven grandbabies. His family was what he was most proud of in this world, and Mark’s legacy will live on through the family he built.

He is survived by his four sons, Tyler (Regan) Armstrong of Valdosta, GA, Steven (Drew) Armstrong of Columbus, GA, Jason Armstrong of Lake Park, GA, and Parker (Julia) Armstrong of Valdosta, GA; his sister, Sherrel Ann Moffat of Jackson, MS; 11 grandchildren; and Scarla and Gerry Mulvey of Lake Park, GA. He was preceded by his parents and two brothers, Jimmy Armstrong and Allen Armstrong.

A celebration of life for Mr. Armstrong will be held on Wednesday, June 17 at 2 p.m. at Lake Park Community Church, with Rev. Richard Soper officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Condolences may be shared online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home
