Lula A. Mitchell

September 18, 1944 — February 11, 2005

Lula A. (Ann) Mitchell, 60, lifetime resident of Naylor, died on Friday, February 11, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Valdosta on September 18, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Christine Taylor Haywood and widow of the late Ernest T. Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell was retired from the Moody Air Force Base Commissary where she had worked as a cashier.

Survivors are her daughters and son in law, Sheila Emanuel of Valdosta, Chrissi and Michael Spence of Naylor; grandchildren, Ashley Emanuel of Ray City, Joshua and Elizabeth Emanuel of Ft. Benning, Georgia, Jessica Ambridge, Michelle Spence and Caleb Spence all of Naylor; greatgrandchildren, Leanne and Sarah Emanuel of Ft. Benning, sister, Mary Paulk of Clyattville, and former son in law, Donny Emanuel of Ray City.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Roy Castleberry will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Condolences may be conveyed online at obituaries at www.mclanefuneralservices.
