Louise Ordonise Okuma was born on October 1, 1932 to Pablo and Primitava Biroan Pabro in Honolulu, Hawaii. She went to be with her precious Lord on August 12, 2026.

Louise married William Y. Okuma, her high school sweetheart, on June 27, 1952. Louise and William were married for 74 years.

She is survived by her children Aaron (Tammy) Okuma, Wyman (Janet) Okuma, Willette (Keith) Worsley, Livia (Lee) Tatum, and Billy (Jennifer) Okuma. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

From a family of five children her siblings are Clay Ann Cortez (deceased), Shirl Anne Cortez (deceased), Robert Pabro (deceased), and Jerry Pabro is now sole survivor.

Survivors also include numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews whom she loved with all her heart.

Louise was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of which she was faithful in attendance until suffering numerous illnesses.

She graduated from McKinley High School. After high school, she attended Hawaii Business College and earned a business/secretarial degree. Louise was employed as secretary to the Vice-President of Honolulu Gas Company. She also was employed as secretary to Escrow Steel Company in Honolulu, Hawaii. Louise retired from Owen-Illinois Paper Mill and Valdosta State University Alumni Department.

Louise was formerly a member of the Valdosta Country Club and its various organizations, the Valdosta State University Symphony Guild, Turner Center for the Arts, the Valdosta Book Club, and President of the Pan Pacific Asian Organization.

She is known for her kind and generous heart. Louise took meals to the elderly and gave monetary gifts to struggling VSU students.

Her best friend and constant companion was her husband, William. When she was healthy, the only times they were without each other were when they were at work. All other times they were always together. Their love for each other is immeasurable. William was her caregiver for numerous years.

Louise filled the hearts of her children and grandchildren with love and respect. She will be sorely missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Even though our hearts feel empty without her, they are still full of the love she so freely gave.

A funeral mass for Louise will be held at 12:30pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at St. John Catholic Church with Father Adam Kasela officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will visit prior to the service from 11:30-12:30pm.
