Lorri Mccrary

July 6, 1962 — December 5, 2023

Lorri McCrary, 61, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, after a long, but brave battle with cancer. Born in Moultrie on July 6, 1962, she and her family lived in several places around the southeast before they lived in Waycross where she graduated from Waycross High School. Throughout this time, Lorri would visit family in Moultrie during the summers and attend VBS at First Baptist Church of Moultrie. It was during one of these summers that she met Pat McCrary at church. Lorri and Pat would keep track of each other during the year and reacquaint themselves at church during the summers. When they were in their mid-20’s they started dating while Pat was attending VSU, meeting in Valdosta from Moultrie and Waycross. They were married on December 6, 1986, and lived briefly in Waycross before moving back to Moultrie. While in Moultrie, Lorri worked as a Parapro at R.B Wright Elementary School. The McCrary’s moved to Valdosta in the mid 2000’s. Lorri was a devoted mother who loved supporting and attending her daughters’ activities as they grew up. The McCrary’s are members of Crossroads Baptist Church and after the girls grew up, she became a secretary at Crossroads. Lorri then moved up to be the Childrens Ministry Director for Crossroads for several years and until the current time. Lorri has always loved serving, teaching and loving on kids, wherever she is and especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Pat McCrary of Valdosta, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Hannah & Jared Barnes of Hahira, Libby & Lawrence LoCoco of Roswell, and Abbigail McCrary of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Hudson Barnes, Mollie Reese Barnes, both of Hahira, Turner Orr and Porter Daughtrey, both of Valdosta; her mother Lanelle Plaza of Moultrie, and her father and stepmother, Wayne & Faye Long of Yulee, FL.
