Lois Hiers Hicks

Lois Hiers Hicks, 100, of Hahira died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Pruitt Health Lakehaven. She was born on October 27, 1915 in Hahira to the late John Gordon Hiers and Lokey Hall Hiers. Mrs. Hicks was an antique store owner/operator that was located in the Holiday Inn and was Secretary for Union Electric. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. Mrs. Hicks enjoyed planning Christmas parties, cooking, working in her flower garden and going to church. She was a member of the Valdosta Lioness Club.
Mrs. Hicks is survived by her son, R. Bottiglieri of Hahira, grandson, Joseph Luca Bottiglieri of Valdosta, granddaughter, Kelsey Patten of Charleston, SC, adopted daughter, Lorrie Horne of Hahira, nephew, Tony Hiers of Coalmont, TN, great nephews, Scott Hiers of Coalmont, TN, Andy McCormick, Marty McCormick and Rich McCormick all of Rock Hill, SC, great niece, Robin Hiers of Atlanta, three great great nieces and one great great nephew. She is preceded in death by her husbands, John Bottiglieri and John Allman Hicks and daughter in law, Jenny Lynn Hesters. The family would like to thank the staff of Pruitt Health @ Lakehaven for their care of Mrs. Hicks.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Reverend Phillip Badley and Chaplain Jimmy Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends from one until two p. m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
