Leon Larue (Papa Roo) Bryan

February 11, 1937 — November 29, 2021

Leon LaRue (Papa Roo) Bryan, 84, of Valdosta died Monday, November 29, 2021 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 11, 1937 in Valdosta to the late Scotia Baldwin and Eva Wood Bryan and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mr. Bryan was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from PCA as a woodyard operator. He enjoyed being at home gardening, collecting arrowheads and growing his flowers.
Survivors include his wife, Edna McGill Bryan of Valdosta; his three children, Tammy Englund of Kennesaw, GA, Lee Bryan and Joe Keller of Atlanta, GA, Ken Bryan of Tulum, Mexico; his grandson, Brandon Vega; 6 special stepchildren, 12-step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Benevolence Cemetery with Rev. Dewey Fountain officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
