Lenelle C. Shierling

Lenelle C. Shierling, 88, of Valdosta, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on December 20, 1935 in Morven, GA, to the late James Ellis Cooper and Mable West Cooper. Mrs. Shierling had worked as a secretary for many different companies over the years, most recently at Astro Extermination. She had a servant’s heart and served faithfully at First Baptist Church of Valdosta for over 60 years, teaching Sunday School, and serving on various committees. She loved gardening and her flowers, especially her African Violets. She will be deeply missed by her family.

Mrs. Shierling is survived by her son Jeff Shierling, daughter, Julie Shierling Scott (Michael), granddaughter, Jamie Carr (Matt), grandson Alex Scott, great grandchild Mackenzie Carr; her sister Laura Flythe (Charlie), and brother Wayne Cooper (Gail). She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years Julian Shierling, sisters Catherine Adams and Carol Folsom, and brothers Bernard Cooper and Charles Cooper.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, July 8, 2024 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
