Sally Latrelle Harris Crews, 92, of Valdosta, passed away at her daughters’ home on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Born in Waycross on December 18, 1931, Latrelle was the daughter of the late John Harris and Willie Mae Riggins Harris. Married for 72 years to Eugene Talmadge Crews, she was a loving Christian homemaker. She was an accomplished cook in the kitchen and a skilled fisher woman who found great joy in her catch. Latrelle loved to travel and visited 48 of the 50 states in America. An excellent gardener, she had a multitude of plants and flowers that she cared for. She was an excellent seamstress, and had a great talent for sewing, making clothes and Barbie doll clothes for her girls.
Survivors are her four children, Ronald (Barbara) Crews, Robert (Vickie) Crews of Valdosta, Debbie (Mike) Franks, Karen (James) Nellis of Hahira. Latrelle was especially proud of her nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Preceded in death by her husband and her parents, she was also preceded by a special nephew, Ricky Harris, and two brothers, Robert Harris and Richard Harris.
Funeral services for Mrs. Crews will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Chad Payne will officiate. Burial will take place at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from one p.m. until service time. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the Crews family.
