Larry Cardwell

Larry S. Cardwell, 82, of Valdosta GA, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Crestwood Nursing Home after a battle with cancer. He was born to the late Leonard and Hazel (Martin) Cardwell on May 13, 1942, in Kingsport, TN. Larry was married to the love of his life for 46 years, the late Wynette (Strickland) Cardwell. Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force; he was an avid sportsman and an especially great fisherman. He loved to bass fish and had many trophies. Larry enjoyed westerns, history and music. He was a remarkable storyteller. He will always be remembered as kind, hardworking, and generous. Larry loved his family greatly; he was a wonderful Dad & Grandfather.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Wynette (Strickland) Cardwell; four brothers Kelly Cardwell, Jerry Cardwell, Jack Cardwell, and David Cardwell all of Kingsport, TN; and two sisters Betty Cardwell, and Jenny Cardwell.

Survivors include daughter Jeri (Will) Washington, two grandchildren Cole Carter and Tillman Washington all of Pinetta, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
