Laquita Vickers

Laquita Faye Powers Vickers, 87, of Hahira died Monday, July 21, 2025 at South GA Medical Center. She was born on May 9, 1938 in Cook County, GA to the late Willie Briggs Powers and Sarah Lou Vickers Powers. Laquita was a homemaker, she enjoyed farming with her late husband, Jimmy and fishing in the Little River near her home. Tending her garden, dancing, listening to bluegrass music and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren were things she liked doing.

Laquita is survived by her three daughters and sons in law, Theresa and Randy Bozeman of Hahira, Pam and Jerry Fuller of Adel and Amanda Frier of Hahira, grandchildren and spouses, Clay and Shelby Bozeman, Karlie and Tyler Mathis, Chuck and Kayla Warren, Wes and Ashlyn Warren, Karly and Corey Smith, Olivia Fuller and Samantha Frier, great grandchildren, Briggs Mathis, Hollis Mathis, Thomas Bozeman, Lily Warren, Alex Warren, Parker Warren, Mac Warren, Wyatt Wu and Evelina Wu, sister and brother in law, Redith and Danny Bailey of Hahira, brother, Dewayne and Lavina Powers of Meigs and special friends, Joy Sullivan and James Wilkes. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Talmadge Vickers, sisters, Janice Skinner and Betty Hutchinson and brother, Lloyd Powers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11 a. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Elder Thad Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a. m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
