LaQueta Ann Marshel Carroll, 70, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026. She was born on March 5, 1956, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Chester Lee Marshall and Betty McBride Marshall.

Mrs. Carroll was a very loving person. Through all of life's struggles, she maintained a positive attitude and always put her trust in the Lord. She enjoyed crocheting bracelets and blankets for the nursing staff. She also loved to draw and was artistic in many ways. A Christian, she attended many different churches throughout her life. Though she was a quiet person, she always had wisdom to share. She dearly loved her cats, especially her "Rebel Kitty." One of her favorite places was Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Mrs. Carroll is survived by her daughters, Shawna Cantrell and Tracy Marshall; her grandchildren, Alyssa Cantrell, Tyra Johnson, Justin Tankersley, and Samantha Tankersley; her sisters, Susan Marshall, Patricia East, and Charity Eanes, all of Martinsville, Virginia; her brother, Timothy Marshall of Axton, Virginia; her dear friend, Donald Herrin of Valdosta, Georgia; five nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Henry and Pearl Wade; her husband, Rufus Carroll, and grandson, John Johnson.

No services are planned at this time for Mrs. Carroll.
