Lamar Goble

Lamar Goble, 87, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Fellowship Home at Brookside. He was born in Moultrie on December 24, 1935 to the late Thomas Claude Goble and Ella Murphy Goble. He was a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church until his health began failing. Lamar was successful entrepreneur, in 1969 he established Goble’s Grocery & Market, in 1972 he started Goble Saw Shop, and later in 1985 he began Goble Auto Sales & Trucking.

Lamar is survived by his children and their spouses, Kaye and Lamar White, of Valdosta, Keith and Tara Goble, of Valdosta, and Tammie and Gilbert Vaquerano, of Valdosta; daughter-in-law Dianne Goble, of Albertville, AL; grandchildren and their spouses, Nicki Goble, Stephanie Carter (Alan), Ryan Goble (Haley), Kyle White (Emilee), Morgan Goble, Kalin Goble (Jeff Mathis, fiancé), Jessica Rojas (Noel), Justin Miles (Amy), and Jennifer Swain (Jeremy); eighteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Charles Hall; and sisters-in-law, Debra Hall, and Ellen Hall. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Goble, son Steve Goble, grandson Zack Miles, sister and brother-in-law Nadine and Jay W. Pannell, brother and sister-in-law Wastine and Katherine Goble.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on April 12, 2023 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Wayne Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
