Kolbrún Kristófersdòttir Cerasi, 79, of Valdosta, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman, GA. Born in Reykjavik, Iceland to the late Kristòfer Sturluson and Anna Halldòrsdòttir, where she grew up and attended school. In the mid 1970’s, Kolbrún met Ralph Cerasi, who was in the US Air Force and stationed in Iceland. They moved, along with her two boys, to Pennsylvania. Shortly after moving to the States, Ralph and Kolbrún married. After multiple military moves throughout the United States and two tours back to Iceland, the Cerasi’s were transferred to Moody Air Force Base and remained in Valdosta when Ralph retired in 1987. Kolbrún was a devoted wife and mother. Her children and grandchildren brought her tremendous joy. She loved to reflect on her family in Iceland; she was very proud of her Icelandic heritage. In her spare time, Kolbrún enjoyed working for Estée Lauder. As a base exchange sales representative at Moody AFB, she enjoyed meeting customers and helping them with cosmetics. She also assisted other Estée Lauder locations at other bases in Georgia and Florida for many years. A member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Kolbrún often volunteered at St. John the Evangelist Catholic School.
