Kenneth Marsette Waddell

Kenneth Marsette Waddell, 83, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday. June 26, 2024, at Langdale Hospice House. He was born on March 19, 1941, in Donalsonville, Georgia to the late Marsette and Valda Williams Waddell. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He had been in the banking business for most of his professional career starting with Federal Land Bank in Tifton, the business office at South Georgia Medical Center for 10 years, and finally with Commercial Bank in Quitman. Mr. Waddell was a member of Park Avenue Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patsy Waddell of Valdosta; a brother and sister-in-law, Lamar and Carolyn Waddell of Woodstock, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Allene Harris of Athens, and JoRuth Porter of Riegelwood, North Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Dede Waddell of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his daughter, Stephanie Waddell, and his son, Scott Waddell; two brothers-in-law, Mike Porter and Hinton Harris.

Services for Ken Waddell will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Park Avenue Church with Dr. Craig Rykard and Rev. Jamie Bone officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will take place at 3:30 p.m. in Colquitt, Georgia, at Colquitt Cemetery on Saturday.
