Keith Harkins, 62, of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Japan at Johnson Air Station in Tokyo. As the son of an Air Force serviceman, Keith spent his childhood living in several places, including California, Hawaii, Texas, and South Carolina. Following his father’s retirement from the Air Force, the family returned to Valdosta, where Keith attended school.
Keith graduated from Valdosta High School in 1981, where he was a member of the Marching Cats. After high school, he attended Val Tech and later Valdosta State College, earning an associate degree in Applied Sciences. In his younger years, Keith enjoyed spending time outdoors. He worked as an electronic technician for several businesses, including A-1 Communications and Hasty’s, as well as at various locations throughout Florida before eventually returning to Valdosta. His most recent employment was with SE Billiards/Vemco, where he worked as a technician. In his spare time, Keith enjoyed spending time on his computer.
Keith is survived by his mother, Connie Harkins of Valdosta; his brother, Billy Harkins, Jr. of Valdosta; his sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Van Hendricks of Dasher; his nephews, Holden (& Lauren) Hendricks and Harley (& Kali) Hendricks, both of Valdosta; his great-nieces, Lillian Hendricks and Madeline Hendricks; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Harkins, Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Pastor Lee Barnes and Pastor Rick Fountain officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclanecares.com
