Dr. Joseph “Bill” Dasher, age 84, of Hahira, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Crestwood Nursing Home after a prolonged illness. Born on September 17, 1941, in Lake City, Florida, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph Wiley Dasher and Nellie Mae Cothron Dasher.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Dr. Dasher dedicated his professional life to serving the Valdosta community as a respected oral surgeon. He cherished spending time fishing and enjoying the company of his loving family and close friends. Raised in the Church of Christ faith, he later attended Redland Baptist Church.
Dr. Dasher is survived by his devoted wife, Ann Dasher of Hahira; his children and their spouses: Kenneth and Suzanne Dasher, Dana and Robert Edmondson, and Geri and Burt Burkhalter, all of Valdosta; Lisa Sale of Dunedin, Florida; Sandy and Greg Garrett of Hiawassee, Georgia; Scott Williams of Adel; and Jason and Amy Williams of Dunedin, Florida. He also leaves behind a large and loving family of grandchildren—Gaylon Dasher, Kendra DeVane (Shanon), Jacob and Jera Edmondson, Sawyer (Abby), Linzie, and Tucker (Taylor) Burkhalter, Eric Griffin, Chris Griffin, Hunter Luke, Jamie Sale, Tylissa and Jessica Williams, Brittany and Kim Williams, Sarah Williams, Samantha Collins, Bradley, Indy, and Waylon Williams—as well as numerous great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings Sue Dasher Mink, Perry and Angie Dasher all of Valdosta, and Jerry Dasher of Dublin, GA, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Dasher.
A graveside service to honor Dr. Bill Dasher’s life will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Jay Watkins officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather and offer their condolences on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
