Jon Carpio, 58, of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
Jon was born on August 10, 1966, in North Kohala, Hawaii, to Arsie Carpio and Julie Fuijoka. A retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, Jon honorably served his country for nearly 24 years.
Jon was known first and foremost for his generosity — always willing to help family and friends, even if it meant personal sacrifice. His loyalty, kindness, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He had a sharp sense of humor, a deep appreciation for good food, and a passion for his VW Bug and Harley-Davidsons, scuba diving, and gun collection. But above all, Jon was devoted to his wife, Anne. He took great pride in offering love, encouragement, and steady strength to each person he cared for.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Carpio of Valdosta; his father and stepmother, Arsie and Evelyn Carpio, his mother, Julie Fujioka, and his brother, Jed Carpio and family, and all his Uncles, Aunties and Cousins, all from Hawaii. He is also survived by special friends all from Valdosta-- Kevin and Marivic Mundrick, Loyd and Trinh Ramirez and children, Maria and David McGehee, and his godson, David, along with many other friends who will deeply miss him.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00–2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
