John H. Miller, 93, of Lake Park, died on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Fellowship Home following a period of declining health. He was born on November 11, 1931, in Cairo, Georgia to the late Robert Lee Miller and Annie Mae Miller Scoggins. Mr. Miller was a veteran of the United States Army and had served during the Korean Conflict as a medic. He retired from PCA (Owens Illinois) as the head electrician. Mr. Miller was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church and had performed all the electrical for the church. In past years, he had worked for both Lowndes and Echols County Sherriff's offices as well as service as a volunteer firefighter with Echols County. He loved to hunt and fish and had attended Loch Laurel Baptist Church.
John H. Miller is survived by his children, Robert Miller and Anissa Dixon of Quitman; Ray Miller of Anniston, Alabama, Susan Proper of Anniston, Alabama, Raymond and Tammy Miller of Munford, Alabama; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Joan Legette of Valdosta; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his wife, Myra Corbett Miller and two brothers, Jesse Miller and J.C. Miller.
Services for John H. Miller will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. The burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park.
