Joann Fletcher Sirman

November 7, 1939 — November 22, 2022

JoAnn Coppedge Fletcher Sirman, 83, of Valdosta, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Born on November 7, 1939, in Valdosta, she was the daughter of the late Robert Coppedge and Clara McLane Coppedge. JoAnn grew up in Valdosta and graduated from Valdosta High School in 1957. She was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church. In 1959, she married Robert “Bob” Fletcher and started her family. A gifted organist and pianist, JoAnn played for Lake Park Baptist Church for more than 25 years. After her children were well into school, she worked for the Lake Park Post Office. In 1989, her husband passed away. Through a series of events orchestrated by God, her childhood sweetheart, William “Bill” Sirman reappeared in her life. They were married in June of 1990. JoAnn and Bill enjoyed traveling to many interesting places over the years. She was a self taught artist. Painting landscapes and flowers were her favorite creations. She also enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. However, her favorite thing in the world was her family. She absolutely loved spending time with them whenever she could. A living example of a true lady and godly mother/grandmother/great grandmother, her influence on her family will be greatly missed.

Survivors are her husband, William “Bill” Sirman of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Bob Willis of Lake Park; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Cathy Fletcher of Southern Pines, North Carolina, Jeff and Debbie Fletcher of Live Oak, Florida, Andy and Jackie Fletcher of Dasher, Billy and Tammy Sirman of Jasper, Georgia; her brother, Bobby Coppedge of Dasher; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.
