Jesse Norman Bush

Jesse Norman Bush, 83, died on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at his home in Valdosta. Norman was a wealth of knowledge to all who knew him. Son of the late John Earl and Lavada Willis Bush, Norman was born on November 13, 1939, in Colquitt County, Georgia. After serving 4 years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, Norman began a career with PCA where he was a maintenance supervisor. He took pride in his work and enjoyed his years at the plant. Married for 62 years to Betty Jean, his family was his world. He and Betty fished, hunted and camped together. In his younger years he was a whiz on roller skates! Norman was an active Mason, Past Master of Azalea Lodge 716, a member of the Lions Club of Lake Park and a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Park. Norman found joy in gardening and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Graham Bush of Valdosta; children, John (Renalda) Bush of Lake Park, Debra (Jack) Frost of Crestview, Florida, Lee (Lisa) Bush of DeRidder, Louisiana, and Jeff (Julie) Bush of Valdosta; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; sisters and brothers in law, Shelby (Tommy) Griffin of Omega, Linda (Wayne) Archer of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jenell Doss.

Funeral services will be held at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Robert Dawson and Mr. Sam Hussey will officiate. Burial will follow at Copeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.mclanecares.com.
