Jeannie Tucker Hudson, of Dublin, Georgia peacefully passed away at Langdale Place in Valdosta, Georgia on Monday, September 15, 2025, surrounded by family and all her friends at Langdale. Jeannie was born on May 26, 1935, in Byron, Georgia, to parents Hays and Lillian Tucker. Jeannie married her high school sweetheart, James A. Hudson, after a proposal at Fincher’s Barbecue in Macon, Georgia. They were happily married for 69 years before his death and have one daughter, Debbie Hudson Towson (Jimmy) and one beloved grandson, Jim Towson (Gina) and three great granddaughters, Eleanor, Josie and Margot. She loved her sister Dot, talking every day by phone, her brother-in-law Hubert Hudson, nephew Chris (Ellie) Hudson, many beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Jeannie loved her bank customers over more than 40 years at Farmers & Merchant Bank and then at Capital City Bank in Dublin. She served alongside James while involved in Civitan Club International since 1958, Jefferson Street Baptist Church and Dublin First Baptist Church.
Jeannie was a woman of quiet faith, who loved her family and friends passionately. She was always cooking a meal or dessert for those around her and every afternoon would ask, “What do we want for dinner?” She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the very special neighbors and caregivers at Langdale Place who took such great care with compassion, laughter and gentleness over the last year.
A graveside service will be at held at 11:00am on September 20, 2025 at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Centerville, Georgia with her son-in-law, Jimmy and grandson Jim presiding.
Visitation will be held after the service and lunch provided at the home of Dot and Hubert Hudson, 392 Lakeview Rd., Byron, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dublin First Baptist Church, Civitan International, Langdale Hospice or to the charity of choice.
