Jeanette Ellenberg Faucette

Jeanette Ellenberg Faucette, 92, of Quitman, passed away peacefully at the Southwell Health & Rehabilitation in Adel on June 25, 2023. Born in Brooks County on November 28, 1930 to the late Bernice & Eula Mae Ellenberg, she was a lifelong resident of Quitman and Brooks County. Mrs. Faucette was a graduate of Morven High School where she was an all-star basketball player. Through the years, Jeanette had a variety of hobbies which included sewing and teaching others crafting skills. She also loved participating with the Golden Strummers at Valdosta State University, dancing with her Friday Night Dancing group and entertaining friends and family in her home. Philadelphia Baptist Church was her church for many years where she was very active, teaching Sunday School, participating in the church women’s group and singing in the choir.

Survivors include her two daughters and sons in law, Gail & Ronny Knox of Eastman, and Teesa & Mark Barr of Ponte Vedra, FL; four grandchildren, Jennifer (& Ash) Brewer of Eastman, Kelly (& Casey) Inoue of Woodstock, Bentley (& Justen) Maiava of Woodstock, Emily (& Joe) Patterson of Ponte Vedra, FL; great grandchildren, Katie Beth & Mary Knox of Eastman; Evelyn & Caroline of Woodstock, Harper & Jaxon of Woodstock, Wells & Banks of Ponte Vedra, FL. Also surviving is her sister and brother in law, Margaret & James Griffin of Quitman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Faucette, her sister Betty Cooper and brothers, Ronald Ellenberg and Billy Ellenberg.

The funeral for Mrs. Faucette will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Vaughn will officiate. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10 am until service time.
