Jason Michael
Figarola
Sep 8, 1970 — Oct 7, 2026
Valdosta, GA
Jason Michael Figarola, 56, of Valdosta, passed away on October 7, 2026. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on September 8, 1970, to Robert Figarola and the late Susan Armentrout Figarola. Because his father served in the U.S. Navy, Jason moved frequently throughout his childhood. The family eventually settled in South Florida, where Jason graduated from Western High School in Davie, Florida, in 1989.
After graduation, Jason met Patty, fell in love, and married on September 4, 1992. Jason soon began his career with the U.S. Air Force.
The couple moved to Great Falls, Montana, where he began his six-year military career as a security policeman at Malmstrom Air Force Base before transferring to Hazardous Materials and Disaster Preparedness at Moody Air Force Base. In 1998, Jason left the Air Force to pursue a law enforcement career. In 1998, Jason joined the Hahira Police Department and attended the police academy. In 2000, he joined the Valdosta Police Department, where he served for 26 years. During his law enforcement career, he worked as a patrolman, a school resource officer at both Valdosta Middle School and Valdosta High School, and as a Bailiff in the courts.
Jason enjoyed cooking healthy meals and pursuing fitness. He also loved playing the drums and caring for animals, especially his cats at home. Known for his great sense of humor, he was beloved by his family, coworkers, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jason is survived by his wife, Patty Figarola, of Valdosta; his father and father's wife, Robert and Joyce Figarola, of Sebastian, Florida; his sister, Susan Wuepper, and his niece Katie Wuepper of California; his wife's mother, Matty Cepero, of Fort Lauderdale; his wife's father, Jim Mills, of Ocala, Florida; his aunt, Tina Davidson of Ohio; and his uncle, Tom Hamilton of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Figarola, Jr.; his mother, Susan Armentrout Figarola; and several aunts and uncles.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United 2 Prevent, Project 5:9, an organization focused on providing mental health support to first responders. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclanecares.com.
Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the Figarola family.
