Janice Nannette Arthur Lancaster, 84, of Quitman, died on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born on October 8, 1941, to the late James and Millicent Byrd Arthur. She retired from Big B drugs where she worked in a managerial position and attended the New Life Assembly of God Church in Quitman. Mrs. Lancaster graduated from the Arthur Murray School of Dance in Nashville and then taught ballroom dance. She enjoyed water aerobics at the senior center and line dancing there. She loved working in her garden when her health permitted and canning her vegetables, and was also an avid bird watcher.
Mrs. Lancaster is survived by her husband, Willis Lancaster of Quitman; a son and daughter-in-law, Richie and Sharon Williams of Virginia; her grandchildren, Seth Williams, Chad Williams and Madison Williams; step-children, Sherri Lancaster, Willis Lancaster, and Robert Lancaster and a step-grandchild, Stephanie Hart all of Quitman; two brothers, Nathan Arthur and Charlie Arthur.
A memorial service for Janice Lancaster will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold Hodum officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
