James Tyler “Ty” Mallory, 31, of Valdosta, GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. James was born on April 11, 1995 to Lisa A. Rich and Jimmy Mallory in Augusta, GA, and his family moved shortly after to Valdosta.

Despite having leukemia at an early age, and later a brain tumor, James had a love of wrestling and was named Greco-Roman State Champion for Georgia in the mid-2000s. He graduated from LHS in 2013 and went on to pursue his love of the outdoors and being in nature - hunting, fishing at Keaton Beach, diving for scallops, and trapping beavers. He loved riding his ATV through the woods and loved animals, especially his german shepherd, Indy, and feeding his horses. He also enjoyed picking and eating blueberries.

James is survived by his mother, Lisa A. Rich (Bubba Creasy) of Valdosta; father, Jimmy Mallory (Kim Bonotto) of Atlanta; sister, Brooke Mallory of Atlanta; grandparents, Tony & Shirley Mallory of Valdosta; aunt and uncle, Cindy & Dale Mallory of Valdosta; aunt, Jennifer Wiggins of Augusta; Stepsister, Anna Grace Mallory of Ponte Vedra, FL; and special cousins, Austin & Logan Mallory, Matt Poole, and Jacob Wallace, as well as several other cousins and relatives. He was preceded by grandmother, Jean (George) Reynolds; grandparents, Bill & Sandy Rich; and brother, Michael Rich.
