James (Jack) Joyce White, of Valdosta, died at his home on Monday, April 24, 2023. Born in Clyattville on August 8, 1939, he was the son of the late George and Dollie Seay White. James worked 20 years at Lowndes Engineering as a fabricator, and at Valdosta Diesel as a mechanic until retiring. He was a member of My Fathers Ministry. Married 61 years to his loving wife, Sara Kathryn, he treasured the time spent with his family and grandchildren. His hobbies included working on his tractor and mowing his yard.
James is survived by his wife, Sara K. White; son and daughter in law, James “Eddie” (Renee) White; daughter and son in law, Gail (Pat) Mote all of Valdosta; grandchildren, Kobi White (TJ Moseley) of Mississippi, Amber Bailey (Dennis Boyle) of Winter Haven, Florida, William Mote, Jr. of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Consara “Laiynie” McCranie and Tristin Lawrence Moseley of Mississippi; a special young lady, Amber Brooke Lodge of Valdosta; sisters, Shirley Hurst, Jo Ann Barnes of Valdosta, Betty (Darrell) Woods of Arizona; and special friend Jeff Lane.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, April 28, 2023, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Brother Buck Crumley will officiate. Burial will follow at Howell Cemetery. The White family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
