James Earl Bass, 83, of Valdosta, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. He was born in Homerville, GA on October 13, 1938 to the late Jesse James and Clara Smith Bass. James Bass worked as an Environmental Inspector for Pruitt Health, was a U. S. Navy veteran, and a member of the South Valdosta Church of God. He liked building wooden toys, playing guitar, and singing. He was a Sunday School teacher and Evangelist. He was also the author of “The World That Was”.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Audrey Bass, of Valdosta, GA; his son, Kirk Bass, of Sebastian, FL; his daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Victor Paulk, of Valdosta, GA; his son, Dewayne Bass, of Valdosta, GA; his granddaughters, Madison Paulk, of Valdosta, GA, and Elizabeth Paulk, of Valdosta, GA; his sister, Shirley Bruhl, of Valdosta, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
