James C. (Jimmie) Metcalf

James C. (Jimmie) Metcalf, 82, of Valdosta, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Cave Springs, GA on July 31, 1929 to the late Alfred Reynolds Metcalf and Mattie Emma Jones Metcalf. Mr. Metcalf was retired from Azalea City Electric, served in the United States Navy, was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Jean W. Metcalf, two daughters, Angie Warren and Terri Schunhoff, all of Valdosta, three grandchildren, Clint Warren and his wife, Heather, Caitlyn Schunhoff and Chesley Schunhoff, one great granddaughter, Emma Grace Warren, his son in law, Dennis Schunhoff of Lake Park and one sister, Jean Eatmon of Jasper, FL. Mr. Metcalf is preceded in death by two sisters, Anne Edwards and Mary Jane Scheuring.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 18, 2011 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Moon officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
