Jackie Wortham

Jackie Wortham, 87, of Valdosta, died peacefully at home in her sleep on February 24, 2023. She was born on August 23, 1935 in Marshallville, Ga to the late Walton & Alphrine Anderson.

Jackie lived a full life of love and adoration for her family. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother & friend to many. Of all the titles she held, being “MeMe” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was the most precious to her. She loved them all dearly and was the happiest when they were around. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a faithful member of Perimeter Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son Andy Wortham of LaGrange, son and daughter-in-law Terry & Cindy Wortham of Thomasville, and daughter and son-in-law Sherri & Ted Welch of Hahira. Grandchildren Heather & Michael Yates of Thomasville, Kendall & Matthew Roach of Ochlocknee, Teddy & Everley Welch of Valdosta, David Wortham of Gulf Breeze FL, Addison Welch of Hahira, and Ana Wortham of Thomasville. Great grandchildren are John Louis Roach, Penelope Welch, Lennon Roach, Parker Roach, Walton Welch, and Kallyn Yates. Her brother, Jim Anderson, resides in Auburn, AL. She also has several dear cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John David Wortham.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Carson McLane Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fort Valley, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Perimeter Road Baptist Church for the Nicaragua Mission.
