Jackie Joe (Jack) Cecil, 58, of Valdosta, died on Monday, June 25, 2007 at his residence. Born in Orlando, Florida, on May 3, 1949 he was a Registered Nurse and had worked with Valdosta Correctional Institute and Greenleaf. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and was a recipient of two Purple Hearts. He was a member of New Life Community Church at Lake Park.
Survivors are his daughter, Leigh Alexandria (Alex) Cecil of Valdosta and a sister, Patricia Cecil of Ft. Valley, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 2 p.m in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Keith Allsbrook will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com
