Jack Dixon Smith

Jack Dixon Smith, 86, of Blairsville, GA and formerly of Tallahassee, FL and Valdosta died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Union General Hospital in Blairsville. He was born on May 23, 1924 in Homerville, GA to the late Herbert and Mary Taylor Smith. Mr. Smith was retired from NASA and a veteran of the Naval Reserve.

Survivors include his wife, Clara O�Quinn Smith of Blairsville, children and their spouses, Judy Smith Nagel and Conrad Nagel of Tallahassee, FL., Herbert Dixon Smith and Pam Smith of Rockledge, FL., Sharon Smith Wingertsahn and Mark Wingertsahn of Blairsville, 10-grandchildren, 11-great grandchildren, 2-great great grandchildren, one sister, Gloria Coleman of Lakeland, FL. and two brothers, Ted Smith of Homerville, GA. and Herman Brinkley of Lakeland, FL.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, October 16, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with his grandson, Rev. Michael Wingertsahn officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
