Irene Ruth McQuaig Waggoner

Irene Ruth McQuaig Waggoner was born in Waycross, Georgia on July 6th, 1962, to Billie Ruth McQuaig and Charles S. McQuaig Sr. and passed away on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025. 

She retired after working many years as a School Psychologist for several school systems in Georgia. She earned multiple degrees culminating in her PhD from Auburn.

She attended Central Baptist Church in Waycross, Georgia, where she was a longtime member, and loved her church home and family.

She loved her family and her dogs, and spending time with them. She was an avid reader and could often be found enjoying a good book.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Jo Moore (Jimmie) of Latta, South Carolina, her brother Chuck McQuaig (Beth) of Leo, Indiana and brother Ben McQuaig (Angie) of Valdosta, Georgia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and a great niece.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
