Irene C. Bennett, 82, died Saturday, January 06, 2007, at south Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Savannah, Georgia and was a member of first Baptist Church of Clyattville, Georgia.
Mrs. Bennett is survived by: a daughter, Ann Bennett of Lake Park; a son, Gerald L. Bennett Sr. of Lake Park; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Inez Croft and Dorothy Jarvis both of Valdosta; a brother, R. J. Simmons of Gainesville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her: parents; husband, Harold Lee Bennett; two sisters, Mildred Griffin and Aline Damon; and a brother, D. J. Simmons.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2006, at 7 p.m. in the Carson McLane Chapel. Reverend Jack Harris will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
