Howard Hughes, 82, of Morven, died on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on January 26, 1924, in Clearwater, FL, he was the son of the late Roy and Flora Kirkland Hughes.
He is survived by three brothers, Marcus Edward Powers of Morven, Willis Powers of Worth County, Robert Harold Powers of Hawkinsville; three sisters, Resey Fountain and Sara Brantley of Ray City, Julia Mae Simmons of Nashville and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, December 31, 2006 at the Empire Cemetery in Lanier County with Mr. David Stalvey officiating. Burial will follow.
