Helen Parker, 86 of Valdosta died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on October 22, 1924 to the late Steve and Mary Fabik Balogh and had lived in Valdosta since 1969. Mrs. Parker was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Survivors include daughter, Linda Parker Long of Lilburn, son, Joseph Ira Parker, Jr. of Memphis, TN., daughter and son in law, Becky and Ira Katz of Orange Park, Fla., twelve grandchildren, Regina and Michelle of Atlanta, Nikki and Stacy of Norfolk, VA., Kimberly and Trey of Memphis, TN., Mandala of Guilford, CT., Kelly and Lindsey of Jacksonville, Fla., Stacy of Cuba, Parker and Spencer of Orange Park, Fla., twelve great grandchildren , and close friend, Earl Sliney, of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ira Parker, Sr.
Funeral mass will be held at 11am, Saturday, November 13, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Dan O’Connell officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
