It is with joy, sadness, the sound of pistols shooting, and the sight of brushes moving paint on a canvas that we remember a man in overalls that refused to fit into a frame. He was named Harley Davidson Hall, Jr., but known as Rusty.

Rusty passed away on April 15, 2026 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Rusty married Teresa Bannister in the year of America’s 200th birthday and lived for nine years out from Coolidge, GA where she grew up. Their life together held love and loyalty. As a young boy Rusty selected a place on family land where he wanted to build his house one day. He did much of the work himself, and the house sits on the bank of the Little River.

This very private man was born in Alabama on May 28, 1947. He grew up in Clyattville and graduated from Lowndes High School with his best friend, Billy Hughes. Rusty Hall was made of quiet strength, much creativity, and strong-willed independence.

He was an artist in skill and spirit. This guy in overalls painted billboards that were along I-75 and sometimes fifty feet off the ground as he moved along the narrow boardwalk. The painter would scoot on a gymnasium floor to paint a school’s logo at center court - it may be a big Viking, Wildcat, Pirate, Bulldog, or a Yellow Jacket. However, his real passion was using his talent to preserve a place or a feeling of a landscape, an old building, a bird, or an everyday sight.

Rusty also loved his handguns and the smell of gun powder after the shots were fired. He took great delight in blowing away the white X in the center of a small black circle on a paper target. This was done at his home range and at State and National matches all the way up to Lake Erie at the northern edge of Ohio.

A friend once said to Rusty and Teresa, “You guys don’t talk very much - do you?” Rusty replied, “We don’t have to talk because we usually know what the other is thinking.”

Harley Davidson Hall, Jr. is survived by his attentive and caring wife,Teresa Bannister Hall and his loving daughter, Charley Hall Edmondson (Kyle); sister, Patricia Hall Drennen; sisters-in-law, Lana Hall and Jane Hall; and brother-in-law, Cle Bannister.

He is preceded in death by his son, Harley Davidson Hall, III, who left his family way too soon; his brothers Danny Hall (Jane) and Jody Hall (Lana); parents, Harley Davidson Hall, Sr. and “Pete” Juanita Morey Hall.

Rusty is already missed by family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Halls front yard April 25, 2026 at 10:00 AM. 7386 Hall-Webb Rd Hahira, GA 31632
