Hamilton Langdale Dickey, affectionately known as "Ham", 41 of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly while on vacation at Fernandina Beach, FL on Friday, May 26, 2023. Born on November 24, 1981, Hamilton was the middle child to Lyn and Marvin Dickey. He will be remembered for his great humor, affectionate personality, but most of all his unwavering love for his family.
Ham graduated from Valdosta High School in 2000. He went on to attend the University of Georgia where he received a degree in Economics. He was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity where he met and developed his most dear friendships. After graduating from UGA, he moved to Atlanta where he and two of his best friends, Reg Buzzell and Harrison Smith opened and grew a successful business together. Atlanta is also where he met his beloved wife, Amy Hill Dickey, of WestPoint, MS. They were married on April 16, 2011 and soon started a family in Atlanta where their two sons were born, Hamilton Langdale Dickey, Jr. and Gresham Lee Dickey. Clear to anyone he met, Amy, Hamilton and Gresham were undoubtedly the light of his life, and he was as proud a husband and father as one could hope to meet.
Ham's love for the outdoors brought him and his family back to Valdosta where he would begin working for the family businesses and in real estate sales and development. Ham was a member of Park Avenue Church where he and Amy helped teach a children's Sunday school class. Ham had a passion for cooking, hunting, spending time with his family and dogs, and playing practical jokes on his many friends. He had a zeal for life and is leaving behind a host of family and friends who were blessed by his life and will cherish his memory.
Ham is survived by his wife, Amy Hill Dickey; his sons, Hamilton Langdale Dickey, Jr. (9) and Gresham Lee Dickey (8); his parents, Marvin Hamilton Dickey and Jacquelyn (Lyn) Langdale Dickey; his sisters, Jacquelyn Dickey Cowart and husband Justin, Harley (Lee) H.
