Grace (Ketterling) Wombolt passed away quietly of natural causes in her sleep on Friday morning, December 16, 2022, a few days shy of her 88th birthday
Grace was married to Edward George Wombolt in 1952. They had 2 children: Brenda Bowers (St. Petersburg, FL) and Brent Wombolt (deceased of Jacksonville, FL). Her 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren all lovingly referred to her as Mema.
Grace lived a purposeful and dedicated life, focused on her church and her family.
She was a problem solver, courageously taking on any problem and resolving it through hard work.
Grace will always be remembered for her beautiful and pristine yard, and her endless pursuit of cleanliness and her constant questioning of EVERYTHING, she enjoyed a good debate.
She loved deep study of the Scripture. She lived frugally and gave freely.
She held may positions within her church, being respected as a wise counsel and was known for her tireless work ethic and her wisdom.
Grace was often referred to as her family’s “unmerited favor”. She fiercely loved her family.
She loved a good game of boggle and video game bowling. John Bowers (her son in law) remembers her for her ability to raise “so, John...” questions, on any topic, which often lead to hours long discussion and debate, sending the rest of the family from the scene.
In speaking of a noble woman (Proverbs 31: 10-31)
“...She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
Her children rise and call blessed, and her husband also…”
Grace blessed us all with the life she lived, and she will be missed.
Grace was laid to rest beside her husband and best friend, Edward, at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta, GA on December 19, 2022.
