Glenn W. DeVane, 52, lifetime resident of Valdosta, died on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at his home following a lengthy illness. Born in Moultrie on October 13, 1956, the son of Hazel M. Hendley DeVane and the late Paul Edward DeVane. Mr. DeVane was employed in the Fire Protection Industry. He was a member of the First Church of The Nazarene.
Survivors include his mother, Hazel M. DeVane of Valdosta; his sisters, Shellby Brinson of Snellville; Georgia (Dennis W.) Nichols of Valdosta, Ruthie (Gary R.) McCall of Warner Robins, Sue (Donald) Butler of Albany, Melody (Steve) Egli of Warner Robins; brothers, Raymond (Susan) DeVane of Lake Park, Rex (Na Ding) DeVane of Valdosta, Allen DeVane of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward DeVane.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Berrien County. Reverend Stan Stalvey will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
