Glayon "Ray" Rushing

Glayon “Ray” Rushing was born on August 28, 1931, in Western Tennessee. He passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. A veteran who retired from the Air Force, he also taught welding at the former Val Tech, until he retired. A lover of country music and the Atlanta Braves, he also enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in his home workshop.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris; his children Glenda, Dennis and Penny; his brother Bill; his sisters Joyce and Ludine; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Leroy Rushing; stepmother Dorothy Sneed; his mother, Nell Ligon and stepfather Dewey Ligon; his sister, Catherine; his brother, Tommy Leroy; and his son, Kenneth.
