Gerhard Edward Obermeit

Gerhard Eduard Obermeit, 94, of Lake Park, died on Monday, August 17, 2020 following a lengthy illness. He was born in East Prussia, Germany on February 16, 1926 to the late Eduard Obermeit and Emma Thieler Obermeit. He was a retired engineer from Cessna Aero Space of Kansas. He enjoyed building computers and shopping at Harbor Freight. He was a faithful member of Philadelphia Church of God.
Mr. Obermeit is survived by his wife Janet Ethel Obermeit, of Lake Park; his five sons Horst (Sue) Obermeit, of North Carolina, Eric Obermeit, of California, Klaus Obermeit, of Sarasota, FL, Tony (Hillary) Obermeit, of Australia, and Hans Obermeit, of Jacksonville, FL; his thirteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; three step children, Gregory Lamb, of Macon, GA, Mark Lamb, of Lake Park, GA, and Marsha (Danny) Nobles, of Augusta, GA. Mr. Obermeit was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Ruth Obermeit, his first wife Hilde Obermeit, his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
