Gerald Bruce Bennett

Gerald Bruce Bennett, 66, of Valdosta, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness.

He was born July 22, 1948 in Miami, Florida, a son of the late Frederick John and Peggy Benson Holland. Mr. Bennett attended First United Methodist Church of Valdosta and was a retired painter.

He is survived by his step-mother, Bettye Holland of Valdosta; two half-brothers, Jeff Holland of Jacksonville, FL, and Tim Holland and wife Sharon of Valdosta; two half-sisters, Beverly Garmany and Cynthia Brooks, both of California; and a step-daughter, Kerri Pilcher of Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Benson; and a sister, Cecilia Whitehouse.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Bennett will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Chaplain Jeff May officiating. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home, Valdosta.
