Garey Steven Bennett, 68, of Naylor, died at his home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, following a short illness. Gary was born in Homerville, on November 13, 1957, as the son of the late Marvin and Nancy Bass Bennett. Gary honorably served his country with the United States Navy. He received his master’s degree and was a Registered Nurse at South Georgia Medical Center for 32 years.

Survivors are his niece, Nikki (Derek) Rowell of Naylor, nephews, Tilman Bennett of Naylor, Jason Dykes, Joey Dykes both of Jacksonville, Florida, great nephews, Kamron Whitfield, Jayeen Odom both of Naylor, Julian Dykes of Jacksonville, Clarence Garner of Lake Park, Logun Nowell of Naylor, sister in law, Patricia Bennett of Naylor and special friends, Billy and Vera Poole of Jacksonville.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Gerald Bennett.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Bennett Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. www.mclanecares.com
