Freddie M. Taylor

Freddie (Papa) M. Taylor, 73, of Hahira, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 22, 2025, after a lengthy illness. He was born on December 7, 1951, in Bacon County to the late L.C. and Anita Taylor and resided in Hahira for many years.

Mr. Taylor was a faithful member and deacon at Charity Baptist Church and a retired Major with the Georgia State Patrol. Freddie faithfully served the State of Georgia with the Department of Public Safety for more than 35 years and was devoted to his family.

Survivors include his five sons and three daughters-in-law: Matt Taylor and Jason Lenox of Dallas, TX; Aaron Taylor of Peachtree City, GA; Ben and Lori Taylor of Hahira, GA; Luke and Jessica Taylor of Hahira, GA; and Josh and Laila Taylor of Hahira, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Sawyer Taylor, Perry Taylor, Kolten Taylor, Cooper Taylor, Kennedi Taylor, Dean Taylor, Carden Taylor, Hadley Taylor, and Lane Shierling. Additional survivors include his four brothers: Carl, Leon, David, and James.

He was married for 48 years and was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ginger Taylor.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to UF Shands, the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, the Hospice Care Team, and the Social Workers in Gainesville, FL. The staff provided the best care he received at any point and were instrumental in his comfort.

Funeral services will be held at Charity Baptist Church, 4690 Shiloh Road, Hahira, GA 31632, on June 13th, 2025 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm with Pastor Beau Washburn officiating. Graveside services will follow June 14th, 2025 at 10:00am at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 4103 Bay Rockyford Road, Moultrie, GA 31768.

The family will receive friends on June 13, 2025 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Charity Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Nursery Program at Charity Baptist Church.
