Fred Spurlock

Fred Spurlock, 87, of Leesburg, GA (formerly of Valdosta, GA) died Saturday, November 20, 2004 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hosford, FL on August 28, 1917 to the late Will and Cynthia Elizabeth Simpson Spurlock. Mr. Spurlock was a retired farmer and was retired from Strickland Cotton Mills. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Clyde Brown Spurlock on March 4, 1980.

Mr. Spurlock is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Clyde and Angie Spurlock of Leesburg, GA, Earl and Ann Spurlock of Valdosta, GA four grandchildren, Chris Spurlock Trahan, Shalyn Dykes, Stephanie Spurlock and Lauren Spurlock, one great granddaughter, Madison Dykes, one brother, Raymond Spurlock of Blakely, GA, two sisters, Lucille Mercer of Charlotte, NC, and Mildred McFay of Edison, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday, November 23, 2004 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Henry Cannington officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. Monday at the funeral home.
