Frances “Juanita” Rogers of Lake Park, died on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at her daughter’s house, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Wauchula, FL on May 27, 1931 to the late Edgar and Ella Johnston. Mrs. Rogers worked at Owen Illinois Bag Plant for 18 years before retiring from SAFT and then working part time at Behavioral Health. She was a farmer’s wife who loved going to church and gospel sings, cooking, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She was a member of Jennings Church of God, which her father built, and the church clerk for many decades.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Jack) Stone of Echols County; grandchildren, Sheila (Brian) Wood of Lowndes County, Craig (Kim Stewart) Stone of Echols County, Bridgette (Jeff) Patterson of Lake Park, GA, Sam (Jessica) Rogers of Brooks County; great grandchildren, Brooke (Ryan) Chamberlain of Lakeland, FL, Jodie (Cody) Corbett of Echols County, Taylor Griffith of Lowndes County, Andrew (Sarah) Patterson of Echols County, Braden Stone of Lowndes County, Austin Patterson of Lake Park, GA, Ana Kate Rogers, Jace Rogers, and Ava Grace Rogers all of Brooks county; great great grandchildren, Jackson Chamberlain, Owen Chamberlain, Iris Griffith, Oliver Griffith; sister, Jupie Grimsley; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Rogers; a son and daughter-in-law, Lendy and Patsy Rogers; sisters, Louise Grimsley, Frankie Rykard, Gladys Touchton; and a brother, Lamar Johnston.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service at McLane Lakewood from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Online condolences to the family may be conveyed at www.mclanecares.com.
