Evelyn Ruth Shamel
Evelyn Shamel, 90, of Valdosta went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2011. She was born on August 5, 1920 in West Bloomfield, Michigan to the late Russell and Marie (Keivit) Oliver. Mrs. Shamel was a retired accountant with Moore Iron Works and King's Daughters Home in Flint, MI. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Shamel is survived by one daughter, Linda (Fred) Siktberg, one son, Gary (Shirley) Shamel, grandchildren, Paul (Andrea), Brian (Jill), Alan (Cassandra), Annette Siktberg and Lisa (Eric) Scott, seven great grandchildren, Christian and Caytlin Scott, Hope, Lucia, Clara, Will, and Addison Siktberg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Shamel, one brother, Clarence Oliver and one grandson, Brian Shamel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at eleven a. m. at the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Brian Siktberg, grandson, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a. m. until 11 a. m. at the Mausoleum Chapel.
