Eugene Autry “Chet” Atkins

Eugene Autry “Chet” Atkins, 86, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, in Milledgeville, GA. He was born to Ashby & Maggie Mae Atkins on April 27, 1936, in Sperryville, VA. He was a four-year veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an industrial mechanic, who was retired from Ceco. He rode motorcycles with his friends. He enjoyed Christian dances in Quitman. He loved going to the mountains where he was born.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ashby & Stacey Atkins of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, Alyssa Atkins, Brooke Atkins, Jake Atkins, Kayla Atkins all of Valdosta, GA; great grandchildren, Beckham Barrett, Blakely Barrett, Sophia Atkins; and former wife and caretaker, Patricia Atkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, JE Atkins; brother, James Atkins; brother, Harrison Atkins; brother, Fred Atkins; sister, Emily Atkins; and sister, Jane Atkins.
