Ernest Jessie Drew

ERNEST JESSIE DREW, 85, of Hahira died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on June 15, 1921 in Hazlehurst to the late Whiteford T. and Bessie Turbeville Drew and had lived in Hahira most of his life. Mr. Drew was a member of the Hahira First Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He loved life, fishing, hunting and gardening. Mr. Drew was retired self employed beekeeper.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Cyledia Drew of Hahira, one son and daughter in law, Danny and Cindy Drew of Lake Park, one daughter, Sheree Walker of Hahira, five grandchildren, Danya Drew, Jessie Drew, Deledia Ervin, Chad Drew and Chasity Kenerly, two great grandchildren, Haley Ervin and Dana Ervin, one brother and two sisters in law, Kenneth and Nina Drew, Margaret Drew Boyette of Hahira, one brother in law, Troy Baker of Hahira, one niece, Rena Kay Rozier and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Baker, four brothers and two sisters in law, Levonn and Phoebie Drew, Robert and Elizabeth Drew, Oris Drew and Hamilton Drew.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Hahira First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Gordon and Mr. Cleo Hughes officiating. Entombment will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
